Alaska Office of Veterans Affairs - free VA claims help (statewide)

State Veterans Service Officers help any Alaska veteran or family member file VA disability, pension, education and survivor claims for free, by phone from anywhere in the state: 1-888-248-3682. There is no VSO stationed in Bethel; the nearest offices are Anchorage (4600 DeBarr Rd, Suite 180) and Wasilla. The state also keeps a list of Tribal Veteran Representatives by village (several Y-K Delta villages such as Kwethluk and Napakiak have one) who can help you start a claim locally.
