AVCP Energy Assistance Program (tribes compacted with AVCP)
AVCP's Benefits Division pays heating fuel and/or electricity for eligible households across the Y-K Delta. The test is your tribe, not your town: you must be a member of a tribe that has compacted this service with AVCP — call 907-543-8717 to check your tribe's status. If you live in Bethel, ask ONC first (they run Bethel's own LIHEAP). Expedited if someone in the home is 60+, 2 or under, or legally disabled — attach your shut-off notice. Use the single AVCP Benefits Division Application (the same form as TANF and General Assistance); it must be signed by you and your Tribal Administrator, with your latest fuel statement and electric bill and 12 months of income proof (no bank statements). One award per household per program year. Do not fax unless you are about to run out of fuel; pended cases are denied after 30 days.
