›AVCP Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO) program
VPSOs are the first responders in villages without Troopers or city police — they handle law enforcement, search and rescue, EMS, fire protection and probation checks. AVCP recruits and employs the VPSOs for the YK Delta. Program office 907-543-7420, VPSOOffice@avcp.org. To become a VPSO, apply on the AVCP careers site; qualifications are on the State DPS website. In an emergency call 911 or your village VPSO/tribal office.
