Kuskokwim 300 (K300) sled dog race — volunteering, mushers, race week
The Kuskokwim 300 is Bethel's mid-winter sled dog race (with the Bogus Creek 150, Akiak Dash and Delta Championship Series). The 2027 K300 starts Friday, January 22, 2027 at 8:00 PM in Bethel; mushers arrive two to three days before and the awards banquet is the Monday after the finish. The Race Committee relies on community volunteers — host families for visiting mushers, truck support, checkpoint help, Race Headquarters and merchandise sales — fill out the short volunteer form on the Get Involved page and they will contact you. Mushers register online (2026 entry was $400 before Dec 31 / $800 after, plus $100 committee membership - check k300.org for 2027 fees).
