Kuskokwim Learning Academy (KLA) alternative boarding high school
KLA is LKSD's alternative high school (grades 9-12) at 1010 4th Avenue in Bethel, with a dormitory for students from the villages. It is for students who struggle in a traditional school and want to finish a diploma. Apply online or print the application and email it with your transcript; then there is an entrance interview, reference check and a leadership-team vote. Space is limited and acceptance is not guaranteed; Bethel residents are normally not placed in the dorm. Phone 907-543-1477 (state directory also lists 907-543-5610).
