Jacob Wise Memorial Spirit Camp (Napaimute youth culture camp)
The Native Village of Napaimute hosts the Jacob Wise Memorial Spirit Camp each July (2026: July 7-13) at Napaimute for youth ages 10-17 who are enrolled in a middle-Kuskokwim tribe and/or are shareholders of The Kuskokwim Corporation; TKC also sponsors a few out-of-region youth. Campers learn Yuuyaraq, Elder wisdom, subsistence fishing and hunting skills, survival skills, fur sewing, yuraq and NYO, staying in wall tents with wood stoves; life jackets, backpack, water bottle and sweatshirt are provided and boats pick up from Aniak and Chuathbaluk. Apply online each spring - the Native Village of Napaimute posts a new application form on its Facebook page (the 2026 deadline was June 12).
