Good morning, Shungnak! Today is Tuesday, October 27th, and it’s a great day to come to school and make a positive impact on those around you. Say something kind to someone today—you might be just the person who makes their day a little brighter. Today, Maniilaq will be presenting to our students about the dangers of vaping, drugs, and alcohol. The presenter has also volunteered to offer a similar presentation for adults after school. Please listen for more information once her flight plans are confirmed. We will also welcome Ms. Jordan Bartlett to school today. She will talk with students about migratory birds and encourage them to participate in the migratory bird calendar competition. On Friday, our Halloween costume parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. This was a fun event last year, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy the parade! The general election is Tuesday, November 3rd. Students who would like to help with the election can be paid $20 an hour and excused from school that day. Please let us know if you are interested. Our next ASC meeting is on November 5th. If you have something you would like placed on the agenda, please let me or any ASC board member know in advance. All subjects will be considered. Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11th. We invite all Shungnak veterans to join us at school for lunch that day. Some of our youngest students are also preparing a special singing tribute to honor our veterans.
