About
Good Morning, Shungnak! Happy Wednesday, October 28th! Good morning, Shungnak! We have another great day ahead of us, but first, a reminder to be careful on your way to school this morning. The roads are icy, so please allow yourself a little extra time and travel safely. Bullying Prevention Presentation – Tomorrow, October 29th We will have a visitor at school tomorrow to speak with our students about bullying, kindness, and treating others with respect. Parents, please take a few minutes to talk with your children about the importance of being kind to one another. Reinforce our district's zero-tolerance expectations for bullying and remind your children that their words and actions can have a lasting impact on others. Every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome at school. We need your help making that happen! General Election – Tuesday, November 3rd The general election is coming up next Tuesday! We have a great opportunity for our middle school and high school students who would like to help with the election. Eligible students may have the opportunity to earn $20 per hour while participating in an important civic event. This is also considered an educational opportunity, so approved absences from school will be excused. Students can learn about the election process, serve their community, and earn some money at the same time. That sounds like a win-win to me! Please let us know if you are interested. ASC Meeting – Thursday, November 5th Our next Advisory School Council meeting will be Thursday, November 5th, at noon. If you have a concern, suggestion, or topic you would like included on the agenda, please contact me or any ASC member as soon as possible. All proposed agenda items will be considered. Veterans Day Celebration – Wednesday, November 11th We are honored to invite all veterans in our village to join us for lunch at Shungnak School on Wednesday, November 11th. This is our opportunity to recognize and thank the men and women who have served our country. We would also love for our veterans to take a few minutes to visit with our students, share their experiences, and talk about what military service has meant to them. Veterans, please plan to attend! We look forward to honoring you and thanking you for your service. A Positive Reminder for Today Students, today is a great day to make someone else's day a little better! Say something kind, help someone who needs it, and remember that how you treat others says a lot about your character. Come to school ready to learn, leave your cell phones and caffeinated sugary drinks at home, and show respect to your teachers, classmates, and school staff. Let's work together to make Shungnak School a place where students want to come, teachers want to teach, and everyone feels valued. Respect Each Other • Honor Our Past & Traditions • Build Our Future Together Have a wonderful Wednesday, Shungnak! GO EAGLES!See more
