About
GOOD MORNING, SHUNGNAK! Happy Thursday, Shungnak! Let's make today a great day by showing a little extra kindness to one another! Kindness doesn't cost a thing, but it can mean everything to someone else! A friendly smile, a kind word, helping someone who is struggling, or simply treating others with respect can make a tremendous difference. Students, I challenge each of you to do at least one unexpected act of kindness today. You never know what someone else may be going through, and your kindness might be exactly what they need. ICY ROAD CONDITIONS: Our roads are once again slippery and icy this morning. Please allow yourself a little extra time to get to school. Slow down, watch your footing, and be careful. Getting to school safely is far more important than getting here in a hurry! ELECTION DAY – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD! We have an exciting opportunity for our middle and high school students! Students interested in helping with Election Day activities may have the opportunity to earn $20.00 per hour! This is also a wonderful educational experience where students can see firsthand how our election process works and learn about the importance of civic responsibility. Students who participate in approved election work will be excused from school that day. Get involved, help your village, learn something new, and earn some money while doing it! Please let us know if you are interested. NEXT ASC MEETING – THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH! Our next Advisory School Council meeting will be held on Thursday, November 5th. If you have concerns, suggestions, ideas, or something you would like added to the agenda, please contact me or any ASC member. All requests will be considered. Our school belongs to our community, and your voice matters. Working together, we can continue making Shungnak School a place where our children feel safe, respected, supported, and excited about learning. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Let's remember that kindness is not a sign of weakness. It takes strength to be patient, courage to stand up for someone being mistreated, and character to treat others with respect even when we disagree. Students, be the reason someone smiles today! Have a wonderful Thursday, Shungnak! Stay safe, stay positive, and look out for one another! Respect Each Other • Honor Our Past & Traditions • Build Our Future Together. 🦅 GO EAGLES! 🦅See more
