Ketchikan CHARR free New Year's Eve taxi & bus rides (21+)
Every New Year's Eve Ketchikan CHARR (the local bar/restaurant/hotel association) pays for free cab rides home from 6pm to 6am, Saxman to Ridgewood, for anyone 21 or older: call Sourdough Cab 907-225-5544 or Yellow Taxi 907-225-5555 and allow 20-30 minutes. First Student also runs two free buses (northbound and southbound) at 12:30am and 2:30am for people outside city limits - flag them down; southbound starts at the Landing/Jeremiah's lot, northbound at Deermount & Stedman. Tip your driver. The program has run every New Year's Eve for 40+ years; confirm each December that it is on again.
