Kobuk 440 Fun Run Picnic (dog mushing, kids)
The Kobuk 440 sled dog race organization partners with the City of Kotzebue each spring for a free Fun Run Picnic on the sea ice in front of the Post Office: hot dogs, lemonade, chips, and a chance for kids ages 6-12 to ride and mush a two-dog team (a parent/guardian must be present). Kids sign up in person on the ice the day of the event; all participants are entered in a raffle for a kid's sled.
