Maniilaq Job Placement & Training (JPT) / Adult Vocational Training (AVT) — Village Tribes
Maniilaq administers JPT and AVT funding for tribal members enrolled with the tribes of Ambler, Deering, Kivalina, Kobuk, Noorvik, and Shungnak (each of which delegated this service to Maniilaq). JPT helps unemployed or underemployed members gain job skills, find work, or keep a new job; AVT helps members enrolled in an accredited vocational/education program pay for tuition, fees, lodging, meals, and/or airfare. Members of tribes not on this list should contact their own village IRA directly for AVT funding (e.g., Kotzebue members use the NVOK AVT grant, not this program).
