Northwest Arctic Borough (NWAB) — Assembly, Administration & Public Records
The Northwest Arctic Borough is the home-rule regional government covering Kotzebue and the 10 villages, run by an elected Assembly and Mayor. Residents can watch assembly meeting agendas/minutes, submit public comment, or file a Public Records Request. General elections for Assembly and School Board seats are held; a Candidate Nomination Petition is required to run. The borough office is on Lagoon Street in Kotzebue. Nomination petitions are posted each summer for the October election; the 2026 filing period has closed.
