Village Improvement Commission — commissioner seats open
The Northwest Arctic Borough Village Improvement Fund periodically seeks community members to fill Village Improvement Commission seats (Primary/Alternate) for specific villages (e.g. Kiana, Kobuk, Shungnak in the 2026 posting). Interested residents work with their local village leadership to submit a Letter of Interest; a background check is required, and candidates are reviewed by the VIF and the Mayor's Department.
