Dangerous Travel Advisory Danger. Please be advised that storm damage continues to impact roads and beaches from Nome to Council. Council road is CLOSED at mile 8 east of Nome. Other road damage remains beyond mile 8. Do NOT attempt to walk or drive through these areas due washing, missing roadways and high water. Low line flooding has occurred in a number of areas east of Nome potentially impacting camps and homes. DO NOT attempt to travel towards Council until DOT has officially reopened the road. No ETA on re-opening of Council road at this time. Do not drive unless highly necessary. Be cautious and vigilant of high water, road debris, low hanging wires and continuing high winds. City of Nome will update as information is received. Be Smart, Be Safe
